Buchanan Consulting founder, Dr. Janet Buchanan has extensive experience as a senior executive and visionary leader. She has been successful in building high-performance executive teams and leading organizations with diverse and complex services and needs. Janet’s work centers on creating cultures which motivate, inspire, and provide meaning & purpose. She is an articulate and enthusiastic fundraiser, facilitator, and coach who demonstrates an ability to establish rapport and convey information in an insightful, humorous and engaging manner.
Relying on her 20+ years experience working in healthcare, education and nonprofit senior leadership positions, she focuses on integrity-driven, results-oriented business operations and processes to provide current and future success. Janet specializes in organizational capacity building; developing core skills and capabilities in leadership, management, fund raising, programs/services, and evaluation.
Janet possesses a long history of active community service in non-profit and civic organizations working with organizations serving battered women, HIV/AIDs, safe schools, housing & homelessness, rural health, literacy, economic development, arts, etc. She has served on the boards of the United Way, the Boys & Girls Club, and her local school board, to name a few.
Janet is a member of the faculty at Mount St. Mary’s University (www.msmary.edu) and possesses the following certifications and education:

- MBA - Masters in Business Administration - University of Dallas
